Kinoscope Films wraps production of their third feature film
New Delhi | July 7, 2025
Kinoscope Films is pleased to announce the completion of principal photography on its upcoming feature film, A Hundred Thousand Years Later, directed and written by Bhagat Singh Saini. The film is currently in the early stages of post-production and is set to premiere in 2026.
A Hundred Thousand Years Later is an absurd existentialist drama that follows the journey of two over-confident men whose simple trip back home spirals into a surreal odyssey. Confronted by hunger, brutality, fantasies, invisible chaos, and existential despair, their path becomes a philosophical and unsettling exploration of humanity and survival in an indifferent world.
The film stars Kabir Om Kashyap and Subodh Solanki in lead roles. It is produced by Balraj Jangra, Parveen Saini, Shishir Uniyal, and Bhagat Singh Saini. Shot in the hot summer locations across stark and remote regions of Northern India, the film blends visual minimalism with poetic imagery, using long takes and aesthetic sequences to challenge traditional narrative forms.
Working on the film since early 2023, the writer invested two years into development and writing phase. Pre-production started in late 2024 which involved rigorous physical training by the actors for preparing for their role extending to extensive rehearsals, workshops and strategic planning. A committed cast and crew helped realise the ambitious project as the filming lasted several weeks at selected locations that highlighted the film’s themes of desolation, loss, and survival.
Director Bhagat Singh Saini explains, “The film needed to be shot amid fields of wheat nearing harvest, creating a golden seabed under very hot conditions.” He adds, “It often takes just one event to expose the illusion of civility within our society. The narrative explores what occurs when individuals are reduced to their primitive needs and trapped with their own illusions and fears.”
